Operating Systems

When we use a computer or smartphone, we interact with an interface and its functions, such as applications, services, and more.

The main operating systems we use are Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. These systems manage how software and hardware work together to give us the best and most comfortable experience on our devices.

Fundamentals and basics.

• Windows: Developed by Microsoft in 1985. The latest release is Windows 11.
• macOS: Developed by Apple in 1984. The latest release is macOS Sequoia 15.
• Linux and their distributions: Created by Linus Torvalds in 1991. Linux is a leading example of free, lightweight, and open-source software.
• Android: Developed by Google, based on Linux kernel.
• iOS: Developed by Apple for iPhone and iPad. Known for security and smooth user experience.
